This privacy notice explains what personal data we process in connection with your application, for what purposes we do so, and what rights you have.

We treat personal data confidentially and in accordance with the provisions of the Swiss Data Protection Act (DSG). We protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or tampering using appropriate technical and organizational security measures.

2. What personal data is processed?

We process the personal data that you provide or have sent to us in connection with your application in order to assess your suitability for the advertised position or, if applicable, for another open position within our company, and to carry out the application process. In addition, we may process personal data that we lawfully obtain from publicly available sources, such as professional networks.

During the application process, the following categories of data, in particular, may be processed:

  • Master Data such as name, address, contact information, and date of birth
  • Application Information such as a resume, cover letter, transcripts, diplomas, qualifications, work history, work samples, and references
  • Communication Data such as email correspondence, phone notes, and information from in-person or virtual job interviews
  • Approvals and Documentation such as work permits, residence permits, driver's licenses, or other documentation relevant to the position, to the extent that such documents are required for the specific position
  • Data from publicly available sources, to the extent that they are relevant to and permitted in the application process, such as information from professional networks
  • Additional Information Relevant to Your Application, to the extent that they are necessary for conducting the application process

Please do not include any unnecessary information in your application regarding sensitive personal data—in particular, information about your health, ethnic origin, religious or philosophical beliefs, or similar details—unless such information is required for the specific application process.

3. For what purposes is your data processed, and on what legal basis?

We process your personal data to review your application, conduct the application process, and make a decision regarding potential employment. This also includes communicating with you, for example, via email, phone, or during in-person or virtual interviews.

We will only process your data further if it is necessary to assert legal claims, if there is a legal obligation to do so, or if you have expressly consented. With your consent, we may keep your application on file—particularly in the case of unsolicited applications—for future job openings and add it to our applicant pool.

4. To whom is your data disclosed?

Within A.Vogel AG, access to your personal data is limited to those individuals and departments that require it for the application process. This includes, in particular, the Human Resources department, the relevant functional departments, supervisory positions, and, where applicable, senior management.

To the extent necessary for conducting the application process or operating the systems used for that purpose, we may engage external service providers, in particular recruitment agencies, assessment providers, and IT service providers. These providers receive only the personal data necessary for their tasks and are carefully selected and contractually bound.

Our order processors are primarily located in Switzerland or within the EU/EEA. Personal data is disclosed to other countries only if the legal requirements are met, in particular through an adequate level of data protection or appropriate safeguards.

5. How long will your data be stored?

Your personal data will generally be processed and stored for the duration of the application process. Once the application process is complete, your application documents will generally be deleted after 6 months, unless there is a legal, contractual, or other valid basis for retaining them for a longer period.

If we are currently unable to offer you a suitable position but your profile is a good fit for future job openings, we will store your application materials in our applicant pool for up to 12 months with your express consent. You may revoke this consent at any time with future effect. If an employment relationship is established, we will continue to process those application data that are necessary for the establishment, performance, and termination of the employment relationship.

6. What are your rights?

You have the right to access your personal data stored by us, as well as to have it corrected, deleted, or its processing restricted. In addition, you may object to the processing, withdraw any consent you have given, and request the disclosure or transfer of your personal data.

The FDPIC is responsible for handling complaints related to this privacy policy and the processing of your personal data as described therein.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

Should changes to this privacy policy become necessary due to changes in legal requirements, organizational processes, or technical circumstances, the current version shall apply.
