Responsibility Starts with Cultivation
Plant-based raw materials form the foundation of our products. That is why we pay special attention to their origin and quality. Many of our raw materials come from certified organic farming, contract farming, or responsible wild harvesting.
In Roggwil and in select partner projects, we focus on careful cultivation, healthy soils, and farming practices that are as close to nature as possible. When plants cannot be grown in Switzerland, we collaborate with projects in the plant’s country of origin.
Protecting Biodiversity
Biodiversity is the foundation of healthy ecosystems—and thus also the foundation of our plant-based health products. A.Vogel promotes species-rich agricultural landscapes and works to monitor biodiversity on its own land in a measurable way.
The Biodiversity Trail in Roggwil demonstrates how agriculture, medicinal plant cultivation, and nature conservation can be integrated.
Using Water and Energy Wisely
At the Roggwil facility, rainwater is used to irrigate the fields. At the same time, A.Vogel is working to comprehensively track and further optimize its water consumption.
When it comes to energy consumption, we also prioritize efficiency and renewable sources. Our solar power system generates solar electricity year-round, thereby contributing to the site’s energy supply.
Circular Economy and Recycling
The production of herbal products generates byproducts such as plant residues. At A.Vogel, these are reused, for example as compost.
When it comes to packaging, we also prioritize protection, quality, and recyclability. Glass provides particularly good protection for sensitive ingredients and can be recycled. Paper-based packaging components are made from FSC-certified materials.
